By Poetic Posh
I come from a place where the sun wakes early,
Its rays kissing hills that carry stories,
Where children’s laughter echoes through dusty roads,
And women wear strength like head wraps bold.
I come from soil that remembers footsteps,
From lands that bloom even through drought,
Where cows graze slow and peaceful songs
Rise from throats that never forget.
I come from people who greet with warmth,
Who share even when pockets are light,
Where unity builds every brick and hut,
And hope dances in the eyes of youth.
I come from Botswana, proud and deep,
A home where silence speaks with soul,
My roots run wide, my dreams run far,
But this land, this heart, is where I start.
I come from soil that remembers footsteps,
Of ancestors who spoke through drums and dust,
Where huts are more than homes,
They are history moulded in mud and love.
I come from a place where silence sings,
Not with sorrow, but deep reflection,
Where stars guide weary souls at night,
And the moon listens without question.
I come from laughter that rises with the smoke,
From pots boiling over open fires,
From lullabies hummed beneath star-stitched skies,
And wisdom passed down beside flame.
I come from Botswana—rich, unshaken, bold.
Not in silver, but in soul,
Where every dusty path tells a story,
And every child is a seed of glory.
