“A block away from heaven” reflects endeavour (hell), a place of the less privileged, hardships and multiple problems encountered towards survival.
The photographer took a trip to Zola “Mdeni” to capture moments in the streets and came across this unplastered house. The line of laundry brings colour, which represents hope regardless of the struggles we might see. The sunlight sparking in the background also represents the light of hope.
Phenyo Seporo is a 28 year old male photographer based at Gaborone, Botswana. He started his photography journey in 2017 and later ventured into videography in 2018. He is now focused on street photography, arts and culture.
