By Gae Maduo
“Here lies our beloved”
It was meant to outlive us
A legacy was cut short
By one word on a white screen,
Typed in red and ALL CAPS
Then the sky knelt down.
It became one with our pain.
Tell me where dreams go,
When they find out that
They are broken
Tell me where visions collapse and die.
They are buried between pain and despair.
Let us go weep there.
Drench our fears in these tears
At the land of lost purpose.
Maybe a hymn will rise,
That pays homage to
Whatever will pull us through.
Gae Maduo is an aspiring entrepreneur that studied Finance. However, her true passion has always been writing. She has been crafting fictional literary works for as long as she can recall. Before she could write well enough, she used to draw her characters and stories. Writing has contributed immensely to her mental health and general personal development. When she is not working or writing, she is reading Jane Austen books or playing Scrabble or 30 Seconds. Her goal is to have more of her work published locally and internationally. In the great words of every writer out there, she also wishes to write more often.
